Gotta Make Money Somehow: Lindsay Lohan Sues the Makers of Grand Theft Auto

Listen, it’s not that I don’t have any sympathy for Lindsay Lohan; the girl clearly has substance addiction problems and she’s not getting the help she needs. Since her career has (at least for now) basically been destroyed, it seems like the actress needs to find other sources of income…like say, through leveling a suit against the makers of Grand Theft Auto V. In a civil action she filed today in New York, Lohan claims Rockstar Games and Take-Two Interactive’s use of a character named “Lacey Jonas” is an “unequivocal” reference to her. The suit further alleges use of her image, voice and styles from her clothing line, as well as including the Chateau Marmont — Lohan’s residence for over two years.

Lacey Jonas:

I don’t play GTA but from what I understand, celebrity parodies are the norm, and word on the legally under-qualified street is that parody falls under fair use. So good luck with that, Miss Lindsay…I hope you find what you’re looking for.

Cindy Davis, (Twitter) wishes LL would get the help she needs.
