Today Neil Gaiman shared the first look at David Tennant and Michael Sheen in character on the set of the Amazon/BBC miniseries Good Omens, and I’m having some feelings. Take a look:

First thoughts: why am I so turned on right now? I mean, neither of them looks remotely like a creepy sewer clown, which is typically the key to the Pajiban libido. And yet, look how over-the-top they are! Tennant’s demonic Crowley with his long red hair and throwback Sting outfit, and Sheen’s bookish angel Aziraphale all done up like the Doctor (c’mon, with that ridiculous hair, bowtie, vest and watch-chain, all he’s missing is a stick of celery or something). I mean, I know I’m easy to please, but yeah — this is doing it for me.

Aside from my weird attraction to pronounced foreheads and actors dressed cartoonishly, this image is definitely a good omen of things to come (SEE WHAT I DID THERE?). Good Omens, based on the novel by Gaiman and Terry Pratchett and adapted for the screen by Gaiman himself, will be a 6-episode series launching on Amazon Prime (and BBC Two) sometime in 2019. The story deals with the apocalypse and the lengths this angel and demon will go to in order to avert it — all served with a side of hijinx, Horsemen and hellhounds. Also there are prophecies. And witches. And kids. But don’t let the kids dissuade you, it’s still a lot of fun.
