Good Morning, 'Black Panther' Continues To Look F**king Amazeballs

Nothing gets you out of the Monday morning doldrums like a fresh look at one of the most anticipated films coming up in the next year. And though my eyes have been blinded recently by the technicolor insanity that is every bit of Thor: Ragnarok marketing, once I blinked a few times and let them adjust, I was in for a treat this morning — thanks to the new poster and trailer for Marvel’s next superhero entry, Black Panther.

I love that the poster is building on the more creative, dynamic constructions coming out of Marvel (as seen in the marketing for GotG Vol. 2 and Thor: Ragnarok), but with a Wakanda twist: Art Deco meets ultra-modern tech. Also, let’s be honest — with a cast that stacked with talent, you put them all together and you show them the fuck off.

But instead of sitting around staring at a poster, LET’S WATCH THIS NEW TRAILER ON A LOOP ALL DAY LONG:

That music! Those gadgets! Angela Bassett queening all over the place! We definitely get a better sense of the tone, of the interactions between the characters, and a better look at all kinds of action. I don’t know about you guys, but I needed this today.

Black Panther hits theaters February 16, 2018. The film is directed by Ryan Coogler and stars (*inhales breath*) Chadwick Boseman, Andy Serkis, Michael B. Jordan, Martin Freeman, Angela Bassett, Danai Gurira, Daniel Kaluuya, Lupita Nyong’o, Forest Whitaker, Sterling K. Brown, Letitia Wright, and so many more.
