Come on people now, smile on BSG’s brother, that red-headed, slightly slow child who took a bit longer to find his footing. Not all kids develop at the same rate but Caprica finally did learn how to pace himself. Battlestar Galactica had space and explosions and undetected Cylons busting out the gate, Caprica needed a little extra time to set up character background, show us how toasters started out and the work in the biological connection. Take a chance and get caught up now, because SyFy has just announced that the second half of Season 1 will air in October, instead of waiting around until January (as previously announced). A decision on whether the show will earn a second season has yet to be made.

Eric Stoltz is exceptional as Daniel Graystone, the man who first brings a Cylon to life in an attempt to bring back his dead daughter Zoe (Alessandra Torresani ). Torresani has become more compelling since she found her “self” inside a toaster body. Esai Morales is solid as Bill Adama’s father, Joseph and James Marsters has a recurring role as revolutionary Barnabas Greely.

Here’s a kick-ass (literally) fight scene:

And a Season 1.5 preview:

Caprica returns October 5, 2010.
