"Game of Thrones" is "Not Just for Nerds Anymore." Well, Why Not? Stop Taking Things Away from Us!

The good news: “Game of Thrones” is on the cover of “Entertainment Weekly” this week.

The bad news: The cover story “promises that this season will be sexier, bloodier, more epic — and not ‘just for nerds anymore”!’

Sexier, bloodier, and more epic! That’s great. It always is. But why does everything the nerds love have to be mainstreamed? Were they not happy enough with their nerd base? What does that even mean? Is Kelly Cuoca making an appearance this season? The nerdiness is what attracts the nerds to it. Don’t take that away for us. Don’t broaden it, don’t make it appealing to the meatheads. Leave it for us, damnit. DON’T TAKE AWAY OUR TOYS.
