The FX sister-channel FXX got scads of attention last September by marathoning every Simpsons episode ever. All of a sudden, people knew that FXX was a thing. And now that you know, the channel wants to become a destination for kid unfriendly cartoons with its own animation block.
Variety reports FXX’s animation block will be a late night venture that’ll launch January 1st, following an all-day Simpsons marathon. Thursdays at midnight will become its regularly scheduled block on January 22nd. This programming slot will play host to animated shows like High School USA!, Axe Cop, Stone Quackers and Lucas Bros. Moving Co.
Most of the above were produced under FX’s Animation Domination High-Def (ADHD) banner, which ran on Fox in the summer of 2013. Check out some trailers below:
Created by Dino Stamatopoulos, High School USA! centers on the misadventures of some plucky teens who bare a striking resemblance to Archie Andrews and his crew. But you know, deranged.
Based on the popular web comic, Axe Cop has Parks and Rec’s
Ron Swanson Nick Offerman lending his voice to the eponymous axe-wielding officer.
Stone Quackers is about ducks who live on Cheeseburger Island. Because, sure. No trailer exists online, but this opening credits clip comes from the show’s Tumblr.
Lastly, twin stand-ups Kenny and Keith Lucas channel their offbeat brand of humor into an animated series with Lucas Bros. Moving Co.
