FX announced the development of a new show today that is so exciting, it almost can’t be real. Just to ease you in, because I don’t want to overload your senses, here are a few things related to the announcement that I think most of you are pretty into:
—Archer
—Badass, hilarious women
—Post-apocalyptic settings
—Buddy action comedies
—Community
FX and Floyd County Productions (the company behind Archer) have greenlit Cassius and Clay, which is being described as a sort of post-apocalyptic Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid. Except these two bandits will be of the lady variety, voiced by In a World’s Lake Bell and It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia’s Kaitlin Olson. According to Variety,
Cassius (Olson) is a hard-drinking, quick-thinking, fast-talking bull-sh-tter who has more debts than sense, and Clay (Bell) is the fastest gun in the post-apocalyptic South who doesn’t go looking for trouble, she shares a station wagon with it.If that isn’t enough to get you excited, know that the show is being executive produced and co-written by Archer creator Adam Reed and Megan Ganz of Community. Plus, the supporting cast is rounded out by Susan Sarandon as a brothel owner, Jeffrey Tambor as the town’s bumbling mayor, and Stephen Root playing a preacher named Preacher.
Reactions?
Yup, me too.
