Today at the Television Critics Association winter press tour, Fox announced that they’ve picked up Brooklyn Nine-Nine for a third season. Lucky for Andy Samberg, the series has seen a huge bump in viewership from its first season.
In addition to the return of Jake Perotta and the gang, you can look forward to more Gotham next fall as Detective James Gordon continues to try his best to be a good man in a bad city, and Bat Tween battles puberty and the alarming incompetence of the adults tasked with his well-being. Empire has also been picked up after only two episodes, but two episodes was apparently enough to show that the antics of Lucious and Cookie were setting Twitter aflame. I did not realize that there was that much interest in a spiritual successor to Hustle and Flow, but they’ve kept it fairly interesting so far so I’m not complaining.
No word yet on Sleepy Hollow but every time I watch that show I kind of get more confused about where they’re going with it, not less, so I’m not super surprised by that. And to round out the Fox series anyone reading this site actually cares about, Bob’s Burgers was already renewed for a 22 episode sixth season last week so you don’t have to worry about them.
