I’m sick, yesterday there was a bomb scare at the high school where my husband teaches, Ohio weather can’t seem to make a decision, and last week was a pox on the ass of Ros the Exposition Whore. All of these things have culminated in my presenting this casting news with lots of pretty to accompany it.

The first bit of casting news concerns Ophelia Lovibond (No Strings Attached) being cast in Guardians of the Galaxy. The beauty is supposedly cast as the aide to The Collector, but I haven’t seen definitive proof of that.

Naomi Watts will be starring alongside Bill Murray in St. Vincent De Van Nuys. Who will she be playing? The Russian prostitute that Murray’s character frequents. Murray plays a less than perfect role model to a 12-year-old boy that he helps care for while the boy’s mother, Melissa McCarthy, works several jobs. Chris O’Dowd plays a priest, but not the kind that the boy has to worry about. I don’t think.

Tom Hiddleston will be joining Hayley Atwell in the 1930s dramancewar movie, Close Enough. Hiddleston will portray war photographer Robert Capa and Atwell will play Gerda Toro, also a war photographer. Actually, she was the first lady to be a war photographer. The two fall in love and are very gorgeous and whatnot.

Solace is a psychological thriller starring Colin Farrell as a serial killer, Jeffrey Dean Morgan as the FBI agent chasing him, and Anthony Hopkins as a doctor pulled out of retirement to work on the case. Abbie Cornish has now been added to the cast, though her role hasn’t been announced. She’s probably someone’s girlfriend or wife. Damn it. Anyway, the big twist to Solace? The characters played by Farrell and Hopkins have….psychic abilities.

Last of all, Renny Harlin’s Hercules 3D, starring Kellan Lutz, has added Liam McIntyre (“Spartacus: War of the Damned”) to the project. McIntyre will play a trusted captain to Lutz’s Hercules.
