Excuse Me While I Run Laps Around My Living Room While Clapping With Glee. More X-Men: Days Of Future Past News

I’ve been lax in following the progress of the sequel to X-Men: First Class. I knew that they were using the Days of Future Past storyline and I was very excited about what that could mean about bringing back actors we liked from the Singer movies (Ian McKellen, Patrick Stewart) and actors we can just forget about (Halle Berry. Seriously. You suck.). So far we have the actors from First Class as well as OG Magneto and Professor X. Now it looks like we’ll get Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine in the deal as well.

If you don’t know the Days of Future Past storyline, it deals with the X-Men failing to stop an assassination that leads to mutants being either murdered or captured and interred in camps. Future Kitty Pryde sends her mind back to past Kitty Pryde so that the Past X-Men can fix the future. Singer will have a couple of timelines to play with and young and old versions of the characters, which of course explains McKellen and Stewart.

This storyline also has me wondering if they’ll keep key mutants intact. I’m hoping that Singer doesn’t pull a Ratner and shove in so many mutants that he starts blending characters into one. Will Gambit get another shot on the big screen? I’m all for it as long as they get Josh Holloway to play him.

I’m also hoping Ellen Page returns as Kitty Pryde, even though she was only in The Sequel That Shall Not Be Named. Will we see Bishop? A new Rogue? What do you think? Which characters will Singer keep and who would you like to see in the role?
