Ah, here’s that old conundrum again. All your favorite actors want to work with your least favorite, child-molesting directors; what to do…what to do? First off, did you realize Emma Stone is just finishing up a Woody Allen film? (I didn’t.) Magic in the Moonlight, a 1920s romantic comedy, is already in post-production, and just in case you want to feel really conflicted, Stone stars alongside Colin Firth.
Yesterday, news broke that Joaquin Phoenix had joined the prolific director’s untitled follow-up to Magic and as usual, there are no plot details, but Stone has just re-upped. I suppose by now we’ve all realized that if we try to quit watching actors who work with the directors involved in Hollywood’s myriad sex scandals, there won’t be much of anything left. Pretty damned depressing, no?
I’m going to go soak my icky feelings in beer.
