Doritos Made 'Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2' Bags That Play the Soundtrack
When you think Guardians of the Galaxy, you think of lots of things. The soundtrack, the fun of it, the characters, and Doritos nacho cheese chips.
You don’t? Huh.
Mindy Hamilton, senior VP of global partnerships at Marvel Entertainment, said, “Marvel and Doritos have a very similar set of core fans, so we wanted to maximize availability of this soundtrack by making it as accessible in a unique way.” - via
Starting tomorrow, Amazon.com/Doritos will have Dorito bags with the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 soundtrack in the bag. The nasty chip brand has built a tape deck, similar to that of Star Lord, into the bag. You plug in, rock out, and crunch Doritos so loudly that you can’t hear the music. Don’t get me started on the bag noise.
I suppose this is an interesting idea to promote a movie. I’d like to offer up some of my own ideas, if you’ll indulge me.
— A Tampax box that plays Elizabeth Moss reading The Handmaid’s Tale.
— Cases of Mountain Dew that play Vin Diesel rambling about family in the Fast and the Furious franchise.
— Bottles of Jack Daniels that spray you in the face with ocean water that smells like a manly goddamned man to tie in with Aquaman in Justice League.
— Faygo bottles that play the Suicide Squad 2 soundtrack.
— Condoms that play the Imperial March to tie in with one of the fifteen thousand Star Wars movies we’re getting.
— Screen-used underwear from the cast of The Golden Girls packed into Wham! CDs for Deadpool 2: Electric Shootaloo.
