Does Sarah Silverman Seem Old Enough For a Midlife Crisis?

My first thought upon hearing that Sarah Silverman is developing a show about a woman going through a midlife crisis was “how the hell is that even possible?” She seems WAY too young for a role like that, but then a quick Google search reminded me that she is, in fact, 44. Which yeah, I guess is pretty mid-life. I think her perpetual stoned state, combined with the fact that she dresses like an adorable, precocious 15 year old boy ages her down 10 or 15 years in my mind.

And now that that fact has been cleared up, the show sounds pretty kickass. The premise, about a “pathologically honest woman having a modern mid-life crisis” could be very Liar, Liar. But remember, this is HBO we’re talking about, and Sarah Silverman, and it’s being written by Lucy Prebble, a British playwright better known for Secret Diary of a Call Girl and executive produced by Ash Atalla, who has been behind a number of TV shows, most notably for you discerning folks, The IT Crowd. That sounds like a pretty strong, female-driven team that will probably give us a ton of pot and anal sex jokes. Also, hopefully some slow jams.
