It’s been a long, hard, disappointing road to the fruition of
my Fox’s Deadpool movie. I’veThey’ve really been through a lot with the character and figuring out how best to rescue him from the clusterf*ck that was Wolverine:Origins. It’s all going to be worth it when the flick opens in February of 2016, because if it isn’t worth it?
Along with that confirmed release date comes the promising rumor that there are two people being pursued for roles in Deadpool. The first is T.J. Miller, who is in all of the things lately. According to Cinema Blend and ScreenRant, the Silicon Valley star and comedian is being courted for a supporting role. Their guess? Weasel, Deadpool’s friend and arms dealer.
Miller doesn’t look like the Weasel from the comics, but I think that his delivery style and manic screeching could be a great fit with Reynold’s Merc with a Mouth. The internet, if my photo search is any indication, would prefer Weasel to be played by Justin Bartha, Jay Baruchel, Adam Brody, or Charlie Day. I could absolutely get on board with a Baruchel Weasel.
As for the other casting rumor, Game of Thrones’ OG Daario Naharis, Ed Skrein, is in the mix for a villainous role. Since I don’t know what script is being used, I must once again defer to CinemaBlend and ScreenRant in their assumptions. One guess is Skrein as Dr. Emrys Killebrew, the insane scientist that made Deadpool the the people he is today.
I’m not on board with that. I think that the other guess is more accurate: T-Ray.
The alleged original Wade Wilson has a bone to pick with Deadpool. T-Ray claims Deadpool killed his wife and stole his identity. In order to avenge his loss, T-Ray became a sorcerer in Japan. And an albino. So.
I’m waiting to hear if Blind Al is still a part of the film. Maybe we could get a hologram Bea Arthur to make an appearance as well. Hmm. Fox? Call me. I have ideas.
