'Deadpool 2' Has A New Poster That May Unlock Many Secrets Of The Flick
It’s official: Deadpool and Captain America could totally do a buddy comedy now that Disney owns Fox. Okay, it isn’t official at all and I just made it up because if I type it enough it might come true.
What is true is the newly released poster for Deadpool 2, which is a take on Michelangelo’s The Creation of Adam. This one isn’t on the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel, but it does depict Cable emerging from a time travel portal to point a gun at Deadpool while a teddy bear looks on.
Some might call this creation a masterpiece, but to me it’s just well hung art to be shared with the world. pic.twitter.com/O7ezRdGXX2— Ryan Reynolds (@VancityReynolds) December 14, 2017
Ryan Reynolds of course shared it in a tweet, tagging Bucca di Beppo, The Met, and other museums. You can also see that the bottom of the poster says “THE SECOND COMING”, which may well be the sub-title of the flick.
I guess Electric Shootaloo wasn’t good enough for them.
SPOILERS POSSIBLE FROM HERE
So, there is a storyline in X-Men comics called The Second Coming. Cable time travels to save the Mutant Messiah, which is a child born as a mutant in a time of no mutants. The mutant gene or whatever was destroyed by Scarlet Witch because she’s kind of an asshole in the comics. Cable saves the baby messiah and names her Hope, raising her as his own daughter. That’s where the teddy bear comes in as well, because babies love ‘em. So maybe, just maybe, we’re gonna see some Hope Summers saving?
And I am SPENT. Deadpool 2: The Second Coming hits theaters June 1, 2018.
