DC Jumps Up And Down, Waves Its Hands And Yells, "WE HAVE NINE SUPERHERO MOVIES PLANNED OUT TOO, MARVEL!"
When Marvel announces a huge slate of upcoming movies, we all sort of know who is in the mix and what we will get. When Warner Bros./DC announces nine superhero films, and two non-DC “event films”, we don’t have the first clue what to expect.
Not included in that count of nine is Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice, which has also decided it doesn’t want any of that Captain America stealing its thunder. The new release date is March 25, 2016 where it will face the Beverly Hills Cop sequel.
As for the other nine DC movies, ScreenRant heard some rumors and have created a tentative list of the possibilities for some of the announced release dates:
Untitled DC Film - August 5th, 2016 (Shazam?)
Untitled DC Film - June 23rd, 2017 (Justice League?)
Untitled DC Film - November 17th, 2017 (The Sandman?)
Untitled DC Film - March 23rd, 2018 (Green Lantern/Flash or Wonder Woman?)
Untitled DC Film - July 27th, 2018 (Man of Steel 2?)
Untitled DC Film - April 5th, 2019
Untitled DC Film - June 14th, 2019 (The Batman?)
Untitled DC Film - April 3rd, 2020
Untitled DC Film - June 19th, 2020
DC has got some serious huevos rancheros to toss out a schedule of two films per year when they haven’t yet seen what their Superman/Batman/Wonder Woman flick can do in theaters. We do know Gal Gadot has the contract for another 2 movies as Wonder Woman. Dwayne Johnson has insinuated/said he’s working on Shazam. Joseph Gordon-Levitt is in early stages with writer Jack Thorne for The Sandman. Justice League has been the goal from the moment DC started the Batman and Superman flick.
Do I hope that these all get made? I’m not sure yet.
