I'm Definitely Too Old for This Sh*t

Danny Glover is a pickle of an actor. He displays phenomenal ability at times. He also is complete shit at other times, and occasionally makes some incredibly poor choices (Switchback, anyone?). His “I’m too old for this” shtick from the Lethal Weapon movies (personally, I’m still reeling from the fact that a) there are FOUR of those and b) … I’ve seen all four) got tired in a hurry, to the point where it became its own punchline.

But still, he’s a fine actor at times.

He’s been making some poor choices is all I’m saying. The president in 2012, the eeeeevil army guy in Shooter… just look at his IMDB page. Dude has busy, but what he’s been up to has not been great. So, you know, he needs a little shot in the arm, a piuck-me-up, a jumpstart to get his career revving again.

So, an adaptation of a classic novel seems like the right idea, and thus Mr. Glover has signed on to do an adaptation of Melville’s classic novel, Moby Dick.

Oh, and it’ll co-star Vinne Jones (who I last saw butchering the role of Juggernaut in X-Men III). And apparently, it’ll be about dragons.

I shit you not.
The film, called Dragon Fire, is being described as “a live action fantasy thriller.” Oddly, it’s being developed by a smallish indie company, and will have a budget of a whopping $5 million. For five mil, unless they’re going to just use stock footage of komodo dragons, or go the SyFy channel route, you ain’t gonna get much in the way of quality dragon, you know? Maybe they’ll just use wide angle lenses on anoles. I don’t fucking know. The point is, Murtaugh is going to fight dragons. Maybe. Hell, he fought the Predator once, so this should be a breeze.
