Classy Cancer Foundation Rejects Donations from Pervy Redditors Trying to Atone For Posting Nude Celebrity Photos

There is a particular subreddit that’s been largely responsible this week for rounding up all of 4chan’s stolen naked celebrity photos and making them more easily accessible to the mainstream population of douchebags. It’s called The Fappening, because of course it f***ing is, and as Amanda Marcotte writes, they are part of a sick, revenge porn culture who get off on violating women.

But at least a few of them felt bad about the violation, about contributing to the invasion of their privacy. They decided because Jennifer Lawrence had donated to prostate cancer charity in the past, then they would also raise money for prostate cancer (nevermind how f**ked up it is to use the violations of a woman’s privacy as an excuse to raise money literally for the betterment of the male reproductive system).

And despite the fact that it quickly earned $6,000, once The Prostate Cancer Foundation became aware of the source of the contributions, they quickly shut down the campaign and returned the money. They also released a classy statement:

A post appeared on Reddit late Monday afternoon, September 1, 2014. A Reddit user directed other Reddit users to make a donation to the Prostate Cancer Foundation without the Foundation’s knowledge. We would never condone raising funds for cancer research in this manner. Out of respect for everyone involved and in keeping with our own standards, we are returning all donations that resulted from this post.

Meanwhile, Reddit is taking steps to remove any nude photos of Olympic gymnast McKayla Maroney because she was underage at the time they were taken. Are they taking steps to REMOVE THE REST OF THE F***KING PHOTOS? Nope. Just the ones that might get them arrested.

What a f**king cesspool of humanity.
