As wary as I am about remakes/ reboots, I’m always equally optimistic about movies with the right casts. Paul is a movie I watch based solely on the cast (and I was pleasantly surprised as it wasn’t as terrible as I thought it would be).
So yes, I will see Brooklyn Bridge even thought it’s literally about building the Brooklyn Bridge.
Written and directed by Douglas McGrath (Emma, Infamous) and inspired by true events, Brooklyn Bridge has already snared Daniel Radcliffe for the lead. The Harry Potter star is set to play brilliant but inexperienced civil engineer Washington Roebling who oversaw the building of the Brooklyn Bridge in the second half of the 19th century, based on a design by his father John A. Roebling. Kingsley will play Roebling Sr., while Larson comes on board as Emily Roebling, the wife of Radcliffe’s character.
Yep, that sounds great. Now if we can just get that Jeremy Allen White, Lizzy Caplan, Christoph Waltz vehicle about building the Boston water reclamation center.
