Alison Brie, Anna Kendrick, and Bryan Cranston Made a Movie You'll Probably 'Never, Ever' Get See

In addition to discussing her distaste for those who invade her privacy, and her unyielding fondness of the generosity of George Clooney, on the WTF Podcast, Anna Kendrick was asked about the status of Get a Job, a movie that both she and Marc Maron are in. He plays a hotel manager. She plays one of the leads.

Get a load of this cast, though: Miles Teller. Bryan Cranston. Alison Brie. John Cho. John C. McGinley. Marcia Gay Harden. Jorge Garcia (HURLEY). Jay Pharoah. And Christopher Mintz-Plasse. The director, Dylan Kidd, is pretty good, too: He directed Rodger Dodger and P.S., which were fine indie flicks.

You would see that movie, wouldn’t you? Based on that cast alone, right? I mean, Cranson, Brie, and Kendrick is enough to get my ass in a theater seat. But you will probably never get to see it, because no one really knows what happened to that movie, which completed filming years ago and is presumably sitting on a shelf.

What happened to it? Your guess is as good as Anna Kendrick’s.

Marc Maron: When’s that fucking coming out?

Kendrick: Oh my God!

Maron: What the f*ck happened to that movie?

Kendrick: I know. Bryan Cranston came up to me at Comic-Con and was like, ‘What happened to that movie?’ Marcia Gay Harden came up to me at a charity event and was like, ‘What happened to that movie?’ Everybody is like, ‘What … are we?’ … and when I did SNL, Jay Pharoah was like, ‘When is that movie coming out?’ It’s crazy!

Maron: So, when is it coming out?

Kendrick: I don’t think it is, bro. It’s just like, a mystery. It’s just never, ever ever going to see the light of day. At this point, it’s been [a few years ago] … and we were supposed to be fresh out of college. It’s crazy to me that it’s happened.

Maron: How bad could it be?

Kendrick: I have heard several explanations about how the distribution companies were split up, and it’s just in limbo … It’s crazy, because somebody should want to make some money back.

Bummer. Add Get a Job to Nailed, the David O. Russell film with Jessica Biel, Jake Gyllenhaal, Catherine Keener, Tracy Morgan and James Marsden, as the two never-will-be-released films that I want to see the most.
