We don’t understand the motive behind the shooting yet (nor understand how any such motive could justify shooting one’s spouse), but Michael Jace called the police and confessed last night shortly after shooting his wife, April Jace. His two children, both under ten years old, were witnesses to the crime.
Jace — best known for his role as a sexually conflicted police officer in The Shield — reportedly called 911 from his home where the crime took place and simply stated, “I shot my wife.” It took several hours for child protective services to come to the police station to collect his children and place them with another relative.
Jace has been charged with his wife’s murder. Details are still unclear.
