A source that has proven reliable in the past for the site, MakingStarWars.net, has revealed a few interesting details about the first Star Wars spin-off, which will come from director Gareth Edwards (Godzilla) and is set for release in December 2016.
Their source reveals that 1) the codename for the film is Luminac Industrial Goods, 2) that filming will overlap with Star Wars: Episode VIII, 3) that it will focus on a young Han Solo, and 4) that Aaron Paul is “looking to be attached,” whatever that means.
No word on whether he is “looking to be attached” to play young Han Solo, but Gareth Edwards would have to be a bonehead of magnificent proportions to pass up an opportunity to get Aaron Paul to play a young Han Solo because that would be incredible (bitch), especially if young Han Solo were all eyeliners and Goth, as illustrated in the image above.
On the other hand, Aaron Paul is currently the same age that Harrison Ford was when Star Wars was released (35).
Interestingly, Aaron Paul recently played Luke Skywalker in a stage reading of the original Star Wars.
