A Good Thing: Josh Groban Will Be On 'Crazy Ex-Girlfriend'
When the world is an utter shit show, Rachel Bloom’s wild, musical, and wonderful series Crazy Ex-Girlfriend can serve as a balm to your aching soul. And while it’s in between seasons, Bloom herself is trying to help by teasing what’s to come in season three, like an appearance by Josh Groban, who is hot off his run in Broadway’s Tony-winning Natasha, Pierre & The Great Comet of 1812.
On a series that includes characters like a weed-smoking priest, a control freak yoga instructor, and a surprisingly insightful dude-bro called White Josh (Why-Joe for short!), it’s anyone’s guess on who Groban might be playing for what sounds like a one episode guest spot. But EW has a hint, reporting he’ll portray “a mysterious and helpful stranger who will sing in the show.”
Past guest appearances that loosely fit this description have included Seth Green as a Patrick, the astoundingly sympathetic deliveryman. (He didn’t sing, but was in a song number.)
And Jersey Boy star Eric Michael Roy blew in to play the Santa Ana Winds in the ep where Rebecca made out with her boss. (Okay, so the Winds weren’t a helpful stranger, but he was strange, and also a Broadway guest star.)
So who will Groban play? My guess is a priest at the seminary where Josh ran off. Note the black shirt. Is it a cassock? Sound off in comments.
