3 Bits of Inexplicability: Bill and Ted 3, "Terra Nova," Animal House

There isn’t much news worth an entire trade news post tumbling around the usual haunts at the moment, but there are just enough completely inexplicable bits of news to keep the morning interesting.

First up, Keanu Reeves felt a need to make the announcement that a third Bill and Ted movie is ready to go. Said the erstwhile Neo: “Yeah, we have a script. We’re trying to put it together. It’s a good script, too.”

That last sentence was hardly necessary, I mean what kind of insane people would use the empirical evidence of the first two films and conclude that Bill and Ted 3 might have a sub par script? Certainly no one but the bogus at heart. Seriously, did he not make enough money with all those Matrix films? Is this evidence of the mother of all cocaine habits?

Moving on, we will soon be enjoying Animal House: The Musical, coming to a Broadway near you. The musical will be directed and choreographed by Casey Nicholaw, a co-director of The Book of Mormon. And even more inexplicable but entirely awesome? The music will all be done by the Barenaked Ladies, who we will now refer to as BNL, because yes, they are that fundamental.

Finally, inexplicably, Fox has announced the cancellation of “Terra Nova.” I say inexplicable, because I thought Fox only cancelled good science fiction after abbreviated first seasons.
