With the loss of Jonathan Banks, who is returning to the Breaking Bad universe for Better Call Saul, and Yvette Nicole Brown, who quit Community to care for her ailing father and take a role as a series regular in Matthew Perry’s The Odd Couple reboot, there were some spaces to fill in Greendale. Alison Brie, Gillian Jacobs, Joel McHale, and Danny Pudi needed some new friends, so Dan Harmon has added two more to the Greendale cast.

Keith David — who actually narrated the season three documentary, “Pillows and Blankets” has been added to the cast, along with Paget Brewster, who is the more exciting addition (no offense to David), if only because she quit Criminal Minds a couple of years ago promising to return to her sitcom roots. She was, as some of you recall, amazing in Andy Richter Controls the Universe, and also had a role in Friends, as well as the little seen but not forgotten Showtime drama, Huff, which is where many of us were introduced to Anton Yelchin.

Both David and Brewster, I’m sure, will make excellent additions to the cast. Rumor is, the sixth (and probably last) season of Community will kick off on Yahoo! in January.
