Like so many of you, I too have been inundated with absolutely no news of the upcoming Wonder Woman film. Nary a film poster in sight on the NYC subway platforms nor a single action packed trailer during the NHL playoffs. On Tuesday, we will be exactly one month away from our first solo female superhero film from DC Entertainment but you wouldn’t know it unless you looked hard enough.
Thankfully, we’ve got Wonder Woman director Patty Jenkins picking up the slack and blessing us with this surprise, a 30 second teaser with some new clips from the film. Check it out below:
I could remind you that we’ve seen a ton of promotion already for the Justice League film, which at least features Diana!, but also doesn’t come out until November. But we’ve gotten multiple posters and a big trailer unveiling already. For. November. Which is fine because it’s a huge superhero movie, you know, just like Wonder Woman. The same Wonder Woman film which has not only looked pretty awesome from the snippets we’ve been offered but also according to the critics who were able to see ten minutes of footage at CinemaCon in March.
Yet still, for some reason - maybe the same reason DC failed for so many years to adapt this badass warrior to the big screen - people are worried about Diana. Because it’s not like she was the best thing in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice or anything, no sir. So, if you please, do remember that Wonder Woman hits theaters, like all of them, even the one by you, on June 2nd. Maybe tell a friend or two, but only if it’s not too much trouble! We don’t want to overwhelm everyone or anything.
