Remember the fifth midseason premiere, and the nods to Wolves?

Here’s an explicit warning about the wolves:

See here, how the trees form a ‘W’?

For some reason, the foreheads of the walkers in the midseason premiere were also labeled with a ‘W,’ which suggests that the ‘W’ shape in the trees wasn’t just a coincidence. It was another reference to the wolves.

Here’s the Easter Egg warning of their impending arrival:

Here they are getting closer to Alexandria in the penultimate episode of the 5th season. Daryl and Aaron, by this point, are tracking them:

Who are they?

Warning: Comics Spoilers That May Very Likely Spoil the Season Finale

They are most likely the Scavengers, a group of hostile survivors led by a man named Derek, who loot and kill indiscriminately (which explains the chopped up bodies). They approach the gates of Alexandra soon after Pete is killed and attempt to force their way in and kill Rick.

Rick, however, is saved by the sharp-shooting skills of Andrea in the comics, but in the TV series, there’s another sharp shooter more likely to save him:

The Scavengers are ultimately all killed in a major shootout with the Alexandrians.

Stay tuned for season six! WOLVES NOT FAR.
