Send These Adorable Pop Culture-Themed Greeting Cards for Valentine’s Day and Suffer Through the Damn Paper Cuts

Valentine’s Day is only a few days away, and I don’t know about you, but I relish the opportunity to hand Big Candy my dollars and purchase as many heart-shaped Peanuts-themed chocolate boxes as possible so that I can eat them all grossly rapidly and immediately hate myself afterward. 2018 isn’t shaping up to be much better than 2017 quite yet (Dustin keeps breaking down why, in a way that makes me simultaneously respect him and fear for his health), and buying chocolate in bulk seems necessary.

And I’ll be honest with you: I love stationery. When I was a kid, I had three dream jobs: being the person who names nail polish colors (I think I read about this in a delia’s catalog or something, and became obsessed with the idea of that as a career); designing costumes for the Spice Girls (they’re going back on tour; this could still happen!); and writing greeting cards. I’m not all that pithy and I can’t draw worth a damn, but I was weirdly into this professional fantasy. As an adult, now I just spend a shameful amount of money buying unique cards and waiting until just the right moment to give them to someone I like or love or tolerate. Such is capitalism.

Buying Valentine’s Day cards in particular tickles me. With the rise of smaller, indie printing presses, more and more designs are inspired by literature, film, television, and pop culture, so you can grab a card to send to a friend for Galentine’s Day or pick up something legitimately romantic for your partner. Or shit, just buy one for yourself! And pick up some Russell Stover while you’re at it! Treat yo’self. Any of the cards I’ve listed below, my favorites I’ve come across while shopping online, will do.
