The thing about the Emmy Awards and the Golden Globes is this: They don’t really reward what’s most important about television actors*, and that’s how good they look in their underwear. That’s especially true of the supporting cast. Yes: Everyone loves to make goo goo eyes at Jon Hamm, and even Tina Fey has her own niche audience of weirdos who get off on nerdy librarians with a wicked sense of humor **. But the hotness of the supporting cast is too often overlooked.
Indeed, we need to start rewarding those supporting cast members who show up to work, day after day after day, and look good. That make us want to retire to our boudoir. That’s important, people. We work hard (except for the 10 percent who are unemployed) and we deserve to have television crushes, actors and actresses with whom we can bond with co-workers, friends, and family members over our shared nether tingliness.
So, I present to you the nominees for Hottest Television Crushes, Supporting Actor and Actress categories. Feel free to vote on your favorites. If you’re not impressed with the nominations, I suggest you take it up with the Hollywood Foreign Press, write your Congressman, or jump up my ass. Take your pick.
(Note that, in some cases, images were selected specifically to even the playing field)
