You’re the Worst
Emily already covered these costumes, but they’re worth mentioning again because 1. It was kind of a shit week for Halloween episodes, and 2. They were freaking badass. Lindsay’s sailor, Gretchen’s Dany, Edgar’s The Situation, and Jimmy’s… whatever Jimmy is are all fantastic.
But winner of the episode FOR SURE goes to the Rando’s Spielberg, complete with an arsenal of puns.
I have to admit I don’t watch The Middle, but this Rod Serling costume is on point.
Adam and his girlfriend’s couple’s costume is almost too adorable to handle.
But it’s nothing compared to Wendi McLendon-Covey’s Preda-Mom.
It didn’t actually have anything to do with Halloween, but Ravi’s cowboy getup get a major hamana hamana hamana.
The Johnsons do Halloween up right, family style. This year’s Obama family (including Bo, plus secret service) is perfect.
More perfect than this flashback to last year’s Jackson 5?
I’m not sure. But it’s pretty perfect.
Fresh Off the Boat
This episode was full of great costumes, starting with Louis’ Mr. T.
(Plus, Jessica’s capitulation to do her own version of Mrs. T was my favorite moment of the episode.)
And Grandma Huang’s Garfield.
Evan and Emery’s Silence of the Lambs (or, as Louis saw them, a lazy goalie and his delivery sheep) were awesome.
Even if Louis doesn’t recognize the reference, Eddie’s Humpty Hump is SPOT ON.
The show’s MVP though has to go to Eddie’s friend, who wouldn’t let his crew’s refusal to go group costume stop him from dressing as the Traveling Wilburys.
Congratulations, kid, you win Halloween this year.
