I don’t want to alarm any of you, but if you’re dying to see The Hunger Games on opening weekend, in particular those Thursday midnight shows or during the opening day, I’d suggest you purchase your tickets now. It may already be too late. The film is currently tracking at over a $100 million opening weekend, and some are even suggesting that it could break Breaking Dawn’s $138 million opening weekend. Better still, a smattering of early reviews have suggested that the film is actually good. In fact, Suzanne Collins has endorsed the Gary Ross’ adaptation. I’m typically oblivious to hype, mostly because experience has suggested that the film never lives up to it, but I’m cautiously optimistic about Hunger Games.
