Why Aren't We All Talking More About TBS's 'The Detour'?

I say why aren’t we talking about The Detour more because I am assuming that everyone is watching it. And everyone is watching it, right? Because other than the “name for the first season doesn’t hold up for subsequent seasons, see also New Girl, Veep” problem, it’s nearly perfect. And it’s definitely the best comedy of the season. If by “season” you mean “fall premiere date through spring premier dates.” Because then you’ve got all of the spring premieres, and frankly, I’m not entirely sure how I feel about this season of Archer yet. So maybe I should say the best comedy on TV. Of course then by TV, I would still include original content from Netflix, Hulu, etc. Although then my answer might change depending on the third season of Catastrophe which doesn’t premiere until April 28th. So fuck, I don’t know. TV’s confusing. The Detour is really good, you should watch it.

And it’s really good because the people running it understand comedy. The show’s moved from the Parker family’s roadtrip to their new New York City apartment (hence the misfitted name), but the focus — you know what? Fuck it. Let’s let them tell you in their own words why this is the funniest show of the sort-of-TV sort-of-season.

Lies, Natalie Zea. Of course I like dis. Dis is amazing. And if everyone hurries, you can binge the second season before next week’s finale. You didn’t want to go to work anyway.
