So, I know you like pretty pictures and all, but if you’re not caught up on Game of Thrones, through Sunday’s “The Mountain and the Viper,” you may want to back out now. Then again, the Pedro Pascal allure might be overwhelmingly tempting; spoilers — who cares? Proceed at your own risk.

Meanwhile, let’s take a second to think about all the grumbling this season, and to acknowledge how this brilliant, short-lived character managed to make us forget about that serious misstep, the ho-hum moments, and our general Monday morning bitchery. Joffrey who? Jaime did what to Cersei? This one great character, gloriously brought to life by a gifted actor (and his equally wonderful companion), breathed excitement and wit and sensuality into his every scene. Let us revel in the true Red Viper as he lived (that’s code for: I need to forget how he died).

Come, walk with me…
