I find the Important Stuff so you don’t have to.

5. We Got All Three Hobbit Titles and Release Dates.

Peter Jackson turned what was already an epic tale into a three-part movie—I guess so we have no doubts about the epic-nicity? I’m sure it has nothing to do with money. Anyway, here are the three titles and release dates so you can plan out your future:

The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey: December 14, 2012
The Hobbit: The Desolation Of Smaug December 13, 2013
The Hobbit: There And Back Again: July 18, 2014

4. And a Warped This Must Be the Place Trailer; the Soundtrack is Good, But I’m Not Quite Convinced.

Academy Award winner Sean Penn seems to be taking on the Tom Hanks slow-talk method. He plays Cheyenne, a has been rock star carrying on his dead father’s hunt for a Nazi war criminal. With Judd Hirsch, Harry Dean Stanton and Frances McDormand, and a killer soundtrack (Iggy Pop, David Byrne, Sigur Rós), the trailer might leave you feeling confused; perhaps that’s the point?

3. Delightful Details About Spike Jonze’s Next Film Escaped.

Jonze will follow up his 2009 Where the Wild Things Are with the simply titled, Her. This may be the best film premise I’ve ever read.

“In the not so distant future, Theodore (Joaquin Phoenix), a lonely writer purchases a newly developed operating system designed to meet the user’s every needs. To Theodore’s surprise, a romantic relationship develops between him and his operating system. This unconventional love story blends science fiction and romance in a sweet tale that explores the nature of love and the ways that technology isolates and connects us all.”

He falls in love with an operating system! (Macintosh?) And who better to play Theodore? I’m already on automatic update… Joaquin’s co-stars include Samantha Morton, Amy Adams, Rooney Mara and Olivia Wilde. Her is expected to hit theaters sometime in 2013. (That reads funny.)

2. “American Horror Story: Asylum” Promos and Images Continued to Release the Krakenzy. (Warning: strong earworm potential)

Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk know just how to mess with us and it only makes us love them all the more. There are no words to express how excited I am over the thought of Jessica Lange and Chloe Sevigny together. “American Horror Story” also stars Joseph Fiennes, James Cromwell, Zachary Quinto, Evan Peters, Lily Rabe, Sarah Paulson, Adam Levine and Jenna Dewan Tatum, and premieres on FX October 17th.

1. Neeson and Walken in the Same Breath? That’s Right, Here are the Taken 2 Featurette (and Images), and the Seven Psychopaths Red Band Trailer.

Listen, we all know the (silly) premise for Taken 2 without even hearing or seeing anything, but who cares? More Liam Neeson kicking ass, that’s all that matters.

Meanwhile, Seven Psychopaths had us from the outset—the first trailer was great—and this red band version with all the effs is brilliant. Thank you movies, for giving us our men just how we like ‘em: swearing, crazy and kicking all the ass.
