So much Important Stuffitude.

5. BBC Worldwide Announced the Doctor Who 50th Anniversary Special Will Be Broadcast Around the World…at the Same Time.

To avoid spoilers/plot leaks, worldwide broadcasters have agreed to simultaneously air the special; the 3D episode is currently scheduled at 8pm on BBC1 November 23rd.

4. Charles Dance Went All Doctor Frankenstein on Poor Patrick.

Paired with Matron Rachel Griffiths, Dance’s dastardly doctor is not one I’d want treating any of my ailments, major or minor. (These two would have been great on “American Horror Story: Asylum”.) Comatose Patrick (Jackson Gallagher) may be both psychopathic and psychic, but that doesn’t mean he deserves the electric…bed. Luckily he has a new nurse (Sharni Vinson) on his side. This Aussie thriller hits theaters in time for an Oz Halloween, which means we’ll probably have to wait until Easter (apropos?)

3. And George R. R. Martin Possibly Spoiled His Next A Song of Ice and Fire Installment.

But really, it seems more a semantic stretch; people reading a bit too much into an innocuous statement. Swipe to read, and for the sake of fellow Pajibans, please don’t discuss in the comments: Martin was quoted thusly: “You introduce characters, and sometimes they take on a life of their own. Some major characters — yes, I always had plans, what Tyrion’s arc was gonna be through this, what Arya’s arc was gonna be through this, what Jon Snow’s arc is gonna be. I knew what the principal deaths were gonna be, and when they were coming. That would be the closest thing.”

So speculators have decided that because Martin used “is,” that means Jon Snow lives—which I think plenty of people believe regardless. “Is that it?” you ask? Yes, that’s it.”

2. We Met Agent Melinda May.

The latest clip from “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” features our first look at Ming-Na Wen’s reluctant Melinda May. The show premieres on ABC September 24th.

1. Cable’s Gone Wild! AMC Nabbed Lee Pace…

The Hobbit, Lincoln and “Pushing Daisies” vet will star as a “visionary” around which “Halt & Catch Fire” is centered; the 80s drama series is set during the personal computer industry boom and also features Scoot McNairy and Maggie Elizabeth Jones. “Southland’s” Jonathan Lisco will serve as showrunner.

and Jamie Bell…

AMC also announced “Turn” (based on Alexander Rose’s Washington’s Spies: The Story of America’s First Spy Ring) starring Jamie Bell as “spymaster” Abraham Woodhull, who in 1778 formed George Washington’s spy network, The Culper Ring. “Turn” also stars Burn Gorman, JJ Feild and Kevin McNally and is executive produced by Barry Josephson.

Cinemax Reeled in Steven Soderbergh and Clive Owen…

“Retired” film director, Soderbergh continues his television roll with a new hospital series: “The Knick,” starring Owen (presumably) as one of the “the groundbreaking surgeons, nurses and staff, who push the bounds of medicine in a time of astonishingly high mortality rates and zero antibiotics.”

And Showtime Landed Philip Seymour Hoffman.

The Oscar winner will star as ad executive Thom Payne in “Trending Down,” which follows Payne’s decline after his agency is taken over. Co-starring Kathryn Hahn (“Parks and Recreation”), Showtime calls the series a “…blistering attack on our youth-obsessed culture, and a darkly comic examination of what it means to matter. Or matter not.”

Finally, Ryan Murphy Just Announced the Delighful Denis O’Hare Has Joined “American Horror Story: Coven.”

You should be able to hear my excited screams wherever you are. O’Hare joins Jessica Lange, Sarah Paulson, Lily Rabe, Frances Conroy, Evan Peters, Taissa Farmiga, Kathy Bates, Angela Bassett, Emma Roberts, Patti LuPone and Gabourey Sidibe. Witches, bitches!

Cindy Davis, (Twitter) is counting down; T-Minus 14 days until “Breaking Bad” returns.
