Yes, RyRey does have that vapid Christopher Lambert thing going and is at about the same level of Lambacting, but once again, we don’t need the reboot. Live and let die.

4. Harold Perrineau Joined “Sons of Anarchy.”

Perrineau will add to the Sons’ ever-growing list of enemies; he’s signed on to play “ex-drug-kingpin” Damon Pope, whose daughter Tig ran down in last season’s finale. Of Season 5, Kurt Sutter says: “I wanted to set up something in terms of tension for when Jax takes over at the head of this club. We’ll begin with some sense of immediacy and some kind of threat.” Pope “will definitely have a strong point of view about what they did to his daughter.”

3. Brandon Cronenberg Debuted His First Feature Film, Antiviral at Cannes.

Like father, like son—both directors have films opening at the 2012 film festival (in full swing, and being covered by our own Caspar Salmon). Brandon also clearly inherited dear old dad’s sensibilities. Antiviral follows Syd (Caleb Landry Jones, Contraband, No Country for Old Men, X-Men First Class, “Friday Night Lights”), an employee at a clinic that takes celebrity obsession to a new level, selling injections of live viruses harvested from sick celebrities to fans. To make a little extra cash on the side, Syd also smuggles out virus samples in his own body, playing middle man for piracy groups…and inevitably gets himself into trouble. The early reviews are fairly complimentary, noting similarities to father David’s early “body-horror” films.
