5 Reasons Bill Murray's Christmas Special Will Be the Best Present Netflix Ever Gave Us

Dr. Seuss’s Grinch (the real one, not that Jim Carrey crapfest) has always been near the top of my favorite Christmas specials list, but ol’ Grinchy and Max might have to make way for Bill Murray this year. Come to think of it, if there’s a human form to the Grinch, I don’t know who would better personify him than Bill. All past grumpiness aside, it seems like his middling years have transformed the man, if not into pure and utter joy, at least the most delightful crank alive. A Christmas special you say? On Netfix, no less? Oh yes, we are all the way in that holiday spread, and here are just a few of the reasons why.

1. The Man, The Myth, The Legend, Himself.

As I mentioned, he’s basically the Grinch personified, so WHO better to glide us right through the winter months than a suited, silly, cranklepot-turned-joy-bringer?

2. Murray’s Reunited with Sofia Coppola.

And from the look of the trailer, we’re positive it’ll feel so bizarrely good.

3. The Guest Stars

Plus, Jason Schwartzman, Michael Cera, Miley Cyrus, David Johansen, Jenny Lewis, Dimitri Dimitrov, Julie White, and Phoenix.

4. Bill Seems to Have Inherited Letterman’s Right-Hand Band Man, Paul Shaffer.

Dude is a great musician, and very strange. He’ll fit right in.

5. Dancing!
