15 TV Restaurants We Wish We Could Dine In

With the news that the pie-maker is coming back in action (albeit in musical form), I started thinking about television restaurants I wished were real, where I could stuff my mouth with pie and burgers and hang out with the keep company with characters I love. If these restaurants existed in real life, I would set up shop in a corner booth and never leave. For the purposes of this list, no bars were included, either. We’d love to become regulars at these food establishments:

1. The Pie Hole, Pushing Daisies

Pie is the perfect dessert, and cup-pies are the perfect companion (suck it, cupcakes). Eating in a dessert-shaped restaurant, with Lee Pace serving you, makes everything even better. Afterward, you could head to Olive’s bovine-shaped the Intrepid Cow for mac ‘n’ cheese.

2. Double R Diner, Twin Peaks
tvrestaurants_twinpeaks_doublerdiner.jpg
I’ve been to the diner it’s based on, and yes, they have a damn fine cup of coffee, and the cherry pie isn’t that bad either. (Less Tweety Birds on Twin Peaks, though.)

3. JJ’s Diner, Parks and Recreation

Where they’ll bring you ALL the waffles and ALL the bacon you’d ever want. Breakfast really is the most important meal of the day, especially when you eat it throughout the day.

4. Luke’s Diner, Gilmore Girls
tvrestaurants_gilmoregirls_lukesdiner.jpg
By now, you must know that Gilmore Girls is one of my favorite shows, partially because of Luke’s Diner, where any patron, Gilmore or otherwise, could eat to their heart’s content: burgers, chili fries, pancakes, eggs, pies (!), doughnuts, and of course five gallons of coffee, all in one sitting. The guy in the hat behind the counter isn’t too shabby, either.

5. Bob’s Burgers, Bob’s Burgers

Punny burgers make for the best kind of burgers.

6. Der Waffle Haus, Dead Like Me
tvrestaurants_deadlikeme_derwafflehaus.jpg
Before father figure-supreme Mandy Patinkin was Saul Bellows, he was Rube Sofar, the leader of grim reapers in Seattle. Freeing people’s souls takes a lot out of you, and the faux-German eats always left him satisfied.

7. The Max, Saved by the Bell

Every high school has a local haunt where dreams are made and broken, life lessons are learned, and french fries are shared with sweethearts. At least that’s what TV taught me.

8. The Peach Pit, Beverly Hills 90210
tvrestaurants_beverlyhills90210_thepeachpit.jpg
Just 20 minutes away from The Max is this high school spot, where those same lessons were learned, just with more money.

9. Los Pollos Hermanos, Breaking Bad
tvrestaurants_breakingbad_lospolloshermanos.jpg
“I’d like the bucket of fried chicken, with a side of crystal blue, please.”

10. Bellefleur’s Bar and Grill (formerly known as Merlotte’s), True Blood
tvrestaurants_trueblood_bellefleursmerlottes.jpg
Ignore the fact that many people who work or frequent this Louisiana bar tend to die horrific deaths, and focus more on the southern cuisine whipped up in style by Lafayette.

11. Satriale’s Pork Store, The Sopranos

All your sandwich needs are met here, and if you need something else taken care of, head to the back office.

12. The Gilded Truffle, The Simpsons

Be sure to order their finest food stuffed with their second finest food: lobsters stuffed with tacos. Hey, it beats the miscellaneous animals that make up a Krusty Burger…

13. Krusty Krab, Spongebob

Speaking of krusty, the Krabby Patty, made with a secret mix, is cooked with sea-worthy love.

14. Monk’s Cafe, Seinfeld

Take a break from all the cholesterol-laden meals and order the Big Salad to go.

15. Bluth’s Original Frozen Banana Stand, Arrested Development

What better way to end the day than with a G.O.B (frozen banana with twice the amount of chocolate, nuts, and sticks) from the big yellow joint?

Nadia Chaudhury would eat anything Ned makes.
