Earlier today, we learned that Charley Koontz — who plays Fat Neil on Community — was hired a series regular on a new CBS series, CSI: Cyber with Patricia Arquette. I’m never going to watch that series, and I have zero interest in it whatsoever, but I’m still stoked for Koontz. He’s one of those guys that I’ll always be excited to see on my television, and who I’ll probably always yell, “Hey! It’s Fat Neil!” whenever I do. I like it when those guys succeed.
I was thinking about other people like that, and off the top of my head, here are 10 other actors who I love from one thing, and who still work steadily enough that they randomly pop up in the strangest places, leading me to tell something like, “Hey! It’s Kubiac” at my television screen, 20 years the cancellation of a minor series starring a minor character that only five of us remember.
Laura Allen (Terriers, Awake) (Hey! Terriers girlfriend!)
Andrea Anders (Better Off Ted, Mr. Sunshine) (Sweet! Better Off Ted lady!)
Abraham Benrubi (Parker Lewis Can’t Lose, E.R., The Bridge) (KUBIAC!)
Sabrina Lloyd (Sports Night)
Josh Randall (Ed, Scrubs) (Can’t talk. Fried pie!)
Greg Grunberg (Lost, Heroes) (MILKLESS CEREAL!)
Keiko Agena< (Gilmore Girls) (LANE KIM)
Rob Benedict (Felicity) (RICHARD!)
Dora Madison Burge (Friday Night Lights) (Oh, Becky Sproles! Why’d do you Dexter?)
Carla Gallo (Undeclared, Carnivàle) — (LIZZY! Wait, what are you doingon this show?)
