Meeting the Hippies Halfway: 10 Non-Fictional TV and Movie Presidents Who Can and Will Break Your Funnybone

Last year I shared a list of fictional Presidents that would be arguably more reliable in an apocalyptic disaster than any of our forty-four real life U.S. Presidents (and one band). That may have been flip, because the country remains standing one way or another, and how could alien invasions or robot uprisings really compare to the Civil War or the civil rights movement? Still, it’s safe to say that even our greatest Presidents could do with a bit of humility and humor. Why else would some of us go forth on ghastly enterprises such as Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter and FDR, American Badass, if not for a little POTUS humanizing? Besides, it’s all in good fun.

Thus, in honor of another year of government sponsored holiday shopping safe and democratic elections, on this Presidents Day 2013 I present to you 10 of the Most Fun Non-Fictional U.S. Presidents in Television and Film:

President George Washington from “Drunk History vol. 3” on FunnyOrDie.com

President Abraham Lincoln from Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure

President Franklin D. Roosevelt from Hyde Park on Hudson

President Lyndon Johnson as himself (sort of) from Forrest Gump

President Richard M. Nixon from Dick

President Nixon from “Futurama”

And in case you can’t watch Hulu where you are…

President George H.W. Bush from “The Simpsons”

President Bill Clinton from “Saturday Night Live”

President George W. Bush from Harold and Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay

President Barack Obama from “Key & Peele”

Rob Payne also writes the comic The Unstoppable Force, tweets on the Twitter, tumbls on the Tumblr, and his wares can be purchased here. He’s pretty sure Tricky Dick’s real life funlessness is what makes him so fun.
