The age differences of romantic pairings in movies have been getting a lot of attention lately, what with Woody Allen still being allowed to make movies and Maggie Gyllenhaal declaring she’d being told she’d had her last f*ckable day. Yes, the new normal in movies is to have AARP members playing against recent college grads (I WISH that were an exaggeration). And while it would be fairy-tale fantastic if Hollywood would start pairing actresses with actors closer to their own ages, we don’t make the rules. We would, however, love it if those rules went both ways. If the Hollywood standard is going to be gargantuan age differences, here are a few suggestions to balance things out.

Julianne Moore (54) and Oscar Isaac (37)
Age Difference: 17 years, the same as Rooney Mara and Daniel Craig in Girl With the Dragon Tattoo (also Jennifer Lawrence and Christian Bale in American Hustle.)

Michael Fassbender (38) and Meryl Streep (65)
Age Difference: 27 years, the same as Helen Hunt and Jack Nicholson in As Good As It Gets.

Nicholas Hoult (25) and Catherine Zeta-Jones (45)
Age Difference: 20 years, the same as Emily Blunt and Tom Cruise in Edge of Tomorrow (as well as Steve Carell and Anne Hathaway in Get Smart).

Constance Wu (33) and John Boyega (23)
Age Difference: Hardly anything. 10 years. The same as Gwyneth and Brad in Se7en or Johnny Depp and Juliette Lewis is What’s Eating Gilbert Grape.

Leonardo DiCaprio (40) and Megan Mullaly (56)
Age Difference: 16 years, the same as DiCaprio and Margo Robbie in The Wolf of Wall Street.

Age Difference: 26 years, the same as Brad Pitt and Rose Byrne in Troy.
