After the departures of Taran Killam, Jay Pharoah, and Jon Rudnitsky, SNL has beefed up its roster of sketch comedians, according to Deadline, by adding three new featured players ahead of its upcoming season: Alex Moffat, Melissa Villaseñor and Mikey Day.

Day has been a writer on the series since 2013, and served as head writer on Maya Rudolph and Martin Short’s Maya and Marty over the summer (he also appeared in the variety series).

Moffat hails from the Chicago improv scene (The iO Theater, Second City and Annoyance, and he co-starred last year in the indie Uncle John.

Meanwhile, I don’t know much about the new Latina cast member, Melissa Villaseñor, but our own Riley Silverman seems to be pleased about the news.

Villaseñor does impressions, and while we’ve seen a lot of people do Owen Wilson impressions, we’ve never seen a woman pull it off so successfully (jump to the three minute mark).
