Look. I’m gonna be honest. The last three days I’ve been living a life of intermittent blistering agony. A filling fell out from a back tooth, you see. Just popped out, with seemingly no provocation. The base of the tooth is still there, and on top of that so is what little remains of the filling. But there’s a little gap in that filling where the tooth base is exposed, and that tooth base is just loaded with nerves. It’s absolutely fucking heaving with them. So I’m essentially walking around with a bunch of exposed nerves in my mouth. Nerves which, more than anything, love reacting. To everything. And they only have one reaction.

A slight change in mouth temperature? Fire! Fury! Pain!

A brush of the tongue against the tooth? Fire! Fury! Pain!

Any food contact? Fire! Fury! Pain!
