A good line delivery’s worth its weight in gold. It can transform a mediocre line into something inspired, and it can elevate a good line into something otherworldly. Reddit had this topic on its mind the other day when it asked the question: ‘What are the best comedic line readings of all time?’ I thought of two answers nearly instantly: Almost every single line reading in Burn After Reading, and pretty much every sentence that leaves Ryan Gosling’s mouth in The Nice Guys. Neither of these made Reddit’s roundup, but I’ll forgive them anyway, as we take a dive into some truly all-time performances:
