‘Random encounters with strangers’ is my favourite genre of fiction. Or, well, close enough. That is after all what the entirety of the Before Trilogy is basically based on—and we know what I think of that. There’s a magic to strangers. Some of them, that is. Not those creepy or filthy ones obviously. But the ephemeral moments provided by never-recurring and quickly-evanescing incidental characters in the story of your life—yeah, they can be a lot of fun.
