Reddit Asks the Question: 'What's Worth 1 HP Of Damage In Real Life?'

I remember once when I was about fourteen or fifteen years old, I was crossing from one part of school to another. We had this slightly raised walkway that looped around on itself as it descended two or three metres before eventually hitting ground level, but which, if you were so inclined, you could take a shortcut through by leaping over the barrier on the raised part and then scrambling down the dirt hill connecting the walkway to the ground instead of following it all the way around. The leap was fun—if at a bit of a risky height that meant you really had to launch yourself to get over the barrier—and the scramble was too, so it’s a route that I took many times.

Most of those times were without incident, but the one that sticks in my head more than any other is one that took place during the ‘rush hour’ inter-class period during which the entire student body would be making their way from one lesson to the next. I found myself on the walkway that time, with hundreds and hundreds of other kids all around, and I was seized by a powerful urge to leap and scramble. It won’t come as a surprise that on that particular occasion, surrounded by a very large audience, I absolutely bottled the leap, and instead of sailing gracefully over the barrier, I awkwardly made it half over, only for my leg to become tangled and for my crotch to make direct impact with the metal.

That was a little bit more than 1 HP damage, but nevertheless it was the first thing I thought of when Reddit asked users to ponder what does do 1 HP damage in real life. You can check out the full thread here, but below are some highlights:
