The world is a smorgasbord of habits, customs, and traditions. We are born into one set of them, and can go a whole lifetime without ever questioning that arbitrarily assigned lot. Travelling, and meeting people from other cultures, is one of the greatest joys there is. Even if—or sometimes precisely because of—the psychological whiplash that can ensue as a result of being confronted with an environment that is different to the one you know.
