As any long time reader of this site will be able to attest, food and cuisine can be a contentious issue at the best of times. Whether it’s people claiming that a hot dog is a sandwich, or the eternal, undying issue of cake versus pie, the battlegrounds of the culinary world are fought on fiercely here. And in a lot of other places to be fair—food is a subject that people are naturally very passionate about! Personally I’m somewhere on the less passionate side of the spectrum, so I’m often at a bit of a remove from these arguments when they do happen, but I’m always happy to grab my popcorn (salted or mixed but never just sweet, natch) and enjoy the show. Reddit provided the material for such a show the other day when it asked the question: ‘What’s a universally loved food that you secretly think is trash?’ You can check out the full thread here but below are some highlights:
