Reddit Asks the Question: 'What is the Worst US State and Why?'

When I saw this thread pop up on AskReddit the other day, I knew I’d learn a thing or two. The question at hand was: ‘What is the worst US state and why?’ While I consider myself relatively well informed about the country, there’s plenty I don’t know about the United States—as was plainly clear from that time I was wowed into slack-jawed wonder by your giant boots and safety conscious puddles. So I knew I’d pick up at least a few nuggets of new information. Probably about a bunch of places I know only little about. It’ll be like a game of paintball, this thread, I thought: A busy and chaotic free-for-all in which everyone ends up with a little bit of paint on them. What actually ended up happening was one particular state looking like it had tripped and fallen straight into a vat of paint. I was aware of some of the stuff being said in the thread, but the scale of things and the unanimity of opinion was still a surprise.
