I’m not gonna insult anyone by (pre-)ambling on about why we might be in need of some stories of hope, empathy, and solidarity right now. Suffice it to say dark times call for beacons of light, however small they may be. As Carl Sagan once famously said in his all-encompassing speech ‘the pale blue dot’, ‘In our obscurity, in all this vastness, there is no hint that help will come from elsewhere to save us from ourselves.’ We have to look after each other, however we can.
